Trojans trounce Sailors; Wolves lead other area winners
SUTHERLAND, Neb. — The Cambridge boys unleashed their most overwhelming win this season, 61-17, over winless Sutherland Friday.
Senior Brohdey Wood’s 13 points nearly matched the Sailors team as he made six of 10 shots.
Yet the Trojans (9-4) would feature 10 other players hitting shots with sophomore Hodge Raburn’s nine points also topping a balanced attack.
Senior Ben Hoberty added eight points while classmate Carson Trompke and sophomore Brady Ahlemeyer scored six apiece.
Sophomore Sean Polly stepped up to net five points, soph Braydon Miller four, junior Gavin Gunderson three and freshman Kyle Johnson another three.
Sophomore Krayton Ruggles tossed in two more points to cap the crushing Cambridge performance.
The Trojans drilled 10 of 22 threes for a nearly 50-percenteffort with Raburn going three for six and Trompke two for three. Ahlmeyer hit two of four from beyond that arc.
Sutherland’s now 0-9 on the season.

THEDFORD, Neb. — Maywood-Hayes Center blew a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter then outscored Sandhills-Thedford 13-6 in overtime Friday.
The Wolves’ well-earned 12th win this season (12-2) featured senior Hayden Farr’s 22 points, 17 from senior Jeremiah Ingison and senior Gage Gerlach tallying 12.
This trio teamed to hit 19 of 37 shots for 51 percent.
Ingison added 11 points and sent out five assists. Freshman Kyle Broz stepped up to pull down seven caroms.
Sandhills-Thedford slipped to 8-4 overall.

BARTLEY, Neb. — An 18-9 Bertrand third quarter decided Friday’s game as sophomore Thunder Nelson boomed for 22 game-high points.
Sophomore Houston Billeter netted 16 points while trying to rally the Roughriders (4-10).
Senior Hunter Blume and junior Trenton Williams sent six points through the nets each.
Senior Nathan Rippe finished with five.
The Roughriders’ rough weekend continued against Hi-Line, a 59-39 winner Saturday.
Senior Jakub Walz did hit six of eight field goals for 15 Southwest points.
Williams added eight and Billeter seven.
Walz muscled for nine rebounds including six offense, but Hi-Line raised its record to 6-7.

ARAPAHOE, Neb. — Sophomore Kade Fisher connected on a trio of second-half triples while junior Will Cacy scored 19 overall for 8-7 Arapahoe.
Cacy tallied 12 points in the second half and Fisher 11 as their team finished this home win.
Junior Trenton Roskop added 11 points.

BENKELMAN, Neb. — Senior Jackson Kerchal’s 27 points and 19 rebounds led Dundy County-Stratton (10-3) over the 8-7 Wolves Friday.
Sophomore Lane Bybee followed with 18 points, senior Derek Noffsinger netted 13 and sophomore August Shaw added another 12.
