Bison, Warrior holidays are set; Arapahoe girls win in Kansas
NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. — The McCook Bison are all set to play next in a Nebraska City Holiday Tournament tipping one week from today.
McCook joins a field featuring the Louisville Lions, Ralston Rams and host Nebraska City Pioneers.
Both teams will play the Pioneers as here is a look at that entire two-day tourney schedule:
Thursday, Dec. 28
Noon — Louisville girls vs. Ralston
1:45 p.m. — Louisville boys vs. Ralston
3:30 p.m. — McCook girls (4-4 record) vs. Nebraska City (2-5).
5:15 p.m. — McCook boys vs. Nebraska City (1-6).
Friday, Dec. 29
Noon — girls’ consolation game; 1:45 p.m. — boys’ consolation; 3:30 p.m. — girls’ championship game; 5:15 p.m. — boys’ championship.
Braithwait tourney
The Bob Braithwait Arapahoe Holiday Tournament is all set for next week.
Thursday, Dec. 28
Girls — Arapahoe vs. Wallace in South gym; Southern Valley vs. Blue Hill in North gym, 5:30 p.m.
Boys — Southern Valley vs. Blue Hill in North gym, 7 p.m.; Arapahoe vs. Wallace in South gym, 7:15 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 29
Girls — Consolation in South gym; Championship in North, 5:30 p.m.
Boys — Consolation in South Gym; Championship in North, 7:15 p.m.
Warriors vs. Valley
ALMENA, Kan. — Undefeated Northern Valley, Kan., beat the Arapahoe boys, 65-34, Tuesday evening.
Sophomore Kade Fisher scored 17 points and junior Trenton Roskop 10 for most of 4-4 Arapahoe’s offense.
The Northern Valley Huskies are now 7-0.
Girls win!
The Arapahoe girls scored a 43-41 win over Northern Valley in Tuesday’s varsity opener.
Junior Sage Larson’s 12 points led a balanced 4-4 Warrior attack with senior Berkley Warner adding eight, junior Cadence Carpenter six, sophomore Emma Strand five and freshman Desi Farner five. No. Valley fell to 1-6.
