Red Willow County Commissioners meet Tuesday
McCOOK, Neb. — The Red Willow County Board of Commissioners and Board of Equalization have altered their regular schedule, moving their monthly meeting from Monday to Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023. The public meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at the County Clerk's office, with agendas available for public inspection.
The meeting will begin with the usual formalities, including a call to order, approval of the agenda, and an opportunity for citizens to express their views during the Citizens' Comments period, with a reminder that no actions can be taken at this time. The agenda also features a review of accounts payable claims.
At 9:15 a.m., the Board of Equalization, under the guidance of Treasurer Crystal Dack, will address tax roll corrections.
The Board of Commissioners session will reconvene at 9:30 a.m., focusing on crucial public hearings recommended by the Planning and Zoning Board resulting from a Monday night meeting. The first hearing will delve into the Mike Daffer Livestock Feeding Facility, followed by a session at 9:45 a.m. examining Solar Farm Regulations.
At 10 a.m., Jiles Bowman, Fair Board Manager, will take the floor to discuss proposed improvements to the Agricultural Building's interior, including the installation of new heaters.
The agenda further includes a consent agenda, allowing for the approval of minutes from previous meetings, accounts payable claims, and the road budget prepared by Miller & Associates for the Board of Public Roads Classifications and Standards.
The commissioners will also consider several resolutions, including authorizing the chairman's signature on documents such as the Annual Tax Exempt Certificate for Ag Valley Co-op and resolutions addressing fund transfers and corrections.
Additionally, the commissioners will consider reappointing Jo Teter to the Fair Board, with a term set to expire on Dec. 31, 2026. New appointments on the agenda involve Jessica Myers and Joseph Robinson, replacing Deb Korte and Garrett Rippen, respectively, with terms expiring on Dec. 31, 2026.
Correspondence items on the agenda include reminders from the Nebraska Department of Transportation about bridge inspections, a Notice of Hearing from the City of McCook, and notifications from Chad Engle of NIRMA regarding required training for CDL supervisors.
