McCOOK, Neb. — A groundbreaking event Wednesday celebrated the expansion of Performance Plus Liquids cattle feed company in McCook as well as the expansion of Phase II of the local business park.

The occasion marked a significant milestone for the board of directors, recognizing their hard work on the project. Special thanks were extended to the Perry and Vicki Case family for making the land available, the McCook Economic Development Corp. board of directors for their efforts in enhancing the community, and the City of McCook for collaborating on the business park expansion.

Troy Bruntz, MEDC President, expressed gratitude for the collaboration that made the project possible.

He highlighted the challenges of finding space due to the previous business park’s full occupancy but commended the efforts of various individuals and groups, including the Cases and the MEDC, for facilitating the fast turnaround and preparing for future business expansions.

Brent Erickson, president of Performance Plus of Colorado, expressed appreciation for McCook’s welcoming community.

He acknowledged the support received from the economic development board, the Cases, the city of McCook, and the plan to bring jobs to the town, emphasizing the positive reception from the local community.

MEDC Executive Director Charlie McPherson recounted the collaborative efforts that led to the project’s success, detailing the steps taken, including subdivision development, annexation, and TIF approval.

He thanked all parties involved and expressed optimism about the growth and economic benefits the new facility would bring to McCook.

The event showcased the cooperative spirit between Performance Plus Liquids, local authorities, and the community, reflecting a positive outlook for McCook’s economic development.

The MEDC plans another groundbreaking ceremony Dec. 14 adjacent to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, where three duplexes will be built as part of the continuing effort to improve housing for McCook’s workforce.
