MCC volleyball player wins weekly award

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook Community College sophomore Greta Bolognini, Bergamo, Italy has received her second award of the week.

The sophomore libero has been named the Region IX South Defensive Player of the Week. For the week of Aug. 28-Sept. 3 she helped MCC to a 3-1 weekend record in the MCC Labor Day Weekend tournament. She recorded 88 digs, six aces, four assists and a kill.

She had previously been named to the all-tournament team for the MCC tournament.

For the season, the business major has played in 13 matches and has 272 digs, which is fourth most in the nation.

Her 6.18 digs per set is second best among players in the 88 schools playing NJCAA Division I volleyball.
