Property tax challenge executive session on county agenda

McCOOK, Neb. — A week after hearing numerous tax property protests, Red Willow County Commissions plan a closed session to plan a legal strategy regarding pending TERC litigation.

The executive session, with Deputy County Attorney Phil Lyons and County Assessor Kristi Korell, regards property assessment which appealed to the state Tax Equalization and Review Commission. It is on the commissioners’ Monday agenda at 9:15 a.m. following the call to order at 9 a.m.

Other items a homestead exemption application presentation by Assessor Korell.

At 9:30 a.m., Missy Nelson of Colonial Life will make a presentation regarding an alternative to AFLAC Insurance.
