Bow blasts free for split of pair with MNB Seniors
McCOOK, Neb. — Broken Bow showed its own comeback tenacity following Wednesday’s frustrating game one and scored a 13-5 victory over McCook National Bank in the late nightcap at Jaycees Field.
Max Denson and Brice Chaplin both delivered three big RBIs. Familiar foe Eli Coble scored twice and the visitors also took advantage of 10 walks.
McCook (13-11) kept pace at 4-4 unil a nine-run Broken Bow fourth inning. After outhitting MNB 13-6 during game one, Bow (8-14 record) took that second contest despite just five hits.
Quentin Terry’s two hits and two RBIs topped the MNB attack.
Bryson Gullion and Brody Graham both walked twice. They both finished with one run scored besides one RBI apiece.
Trenton Raile added the other McCook run after belting a base hit.
Bow pitcher Gavin Goodner pitched the three-hitter, finishing all five innings and striking out seven.
Miles Pollmann started on the hill where he threw 3 1/3 innings for MNB.
The Seniors now get a break from game action until Monday’s scheduled home doubleheader against Buckley Bombers. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. They just finished a busy holiday weekend tourney at Kearney featuring four games Friday through Sunday.
