Red Willow Rodeo Royalty contestants sought
McCOOK, Neb. — Calling all cowgirls, the 2023 Red Willow Rodeo Royalty Pageant is quickly approaching! Do you have what it takes to be Rodeo Royalty? Applications are due by July 1st with the pageant being held July 22, 2023, in conjunction with the Red Willow County Fair and Rodeo.
The Pageant has three age divisions. The Queen contestant age range is 17 to 23, the Jr. Queen contestants, 12 to 16, and the Princess contestants, 8 to 11. Contestant may reside in Nebraska & bordering states. The young ladies will compete and be judged in horsemanship, modeling, speech, interview, onstage questions, and a written test as well as personality and appearance.
The Red Willow Rodeo Royalty Pageant Committee is excited to have generous sponsors that make the pageant possible. There are prizes given to the winner in each age division as well as a scholarship and trophy saddle sponsored by Wagner Ford that will be awarded to the newly crowned Queen. The committee has also put together raffle packages that will be announced during the pageant after the style show. Packages include items such as local gift cards, a grill, a fire pit, and travel package to Omaha & Denver and much more. Tickets can be purchased from contestants and committee members and you do not need to be present to win.
The pageant is open to the public and will start with horsemanship at 9:30 a.m. at the College Warmup Pen at the Red Willow County Fairgrounds and then move to the McCook Senior Center for the Style Show following horsemanship. The coronation of the new royalty will be held during the Red Willow Rodeo on July 22
