Work to begin May 4 on Nebraska 89 south of Orleans

McCOOK, Neb. — Weather permitting, an asphalt overlay project to improve roadway

surface and drivability will begin May 4 on N-89, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

State maintenance forces will be performing the asphalt overlay from reference post 62 to reference post 68, beginning at the south corporate limits of Orleans.

Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers. The work is anticipated to take 20 days.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
