To heck in a handbasket

INDIANOLA, Neb. — When I was young, I considered becoming a patrolman. Of course, that was when I felt ten feet tall and bulletproof. After some years of maturity, I didn't think being in law enforcement was for me. Now there are days I'm pretty sure I couldn't whip my way out of a wet paper sack. I'm glad we have people willing to do a job like that, although it seems very dangerous and sometimes our laws appear to allow criminals more rights than the victims have.

I tend to watch a lot of crime shows on TV and still can't believe some of the gruesome things people will do to others. Yet even though the victim’s life is over, the psycho may only get 15 years in jail. I assume after those folks get paroled; they re-offend rather quickly as one would have to be a "nut" to do the crimes in the first place.

I haven't read anything that would lead me to believe the "woke" agenda has permeated law enforcement yet, as it has the military, but then the military is usually led by people picked by the party in office. So, these were chosen for "equity" by the crazy Democrats, not because they are the most qualified person for the job. If one looks at the head honchos picked by Biden, one can easily see that most of them aren't up to the tasks they were appointed for, hence one reason why our country is in such terrible shape.

Take for instance Biden’s appointment of Richard/Rachel Levine as the first transgender four-star admiral for the U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health and Public Services. If anyone has listened to him/her talk in an interview, I suspect they would be as concerned as I that this was a completely political "stunt" and was chosen to elevate Biden’s status at creating "equity". Petey Buttigieg is another imbecile that must have gotten his job because Biden owed him a favor. Why else would someone this incompetent be appointed to an important position when they can’t do the job? Pete kind of reminds me of a guy in a dandruff commercial. It makes one wonder if the Democratic presidential nominee in 2020 was chosen as a result of offering these people tit for tat.

My dad used to say something like, "We are going to heck in a handbasket," and unfortunately, I'm afraid our country may be heading there as well!

Have a good one.

P.S. I recommend confession before communion for any bold-faced liars! One wonders about Pelosi and Biden’s Catholicism among others, but I only must be sure of my soul.

  • As my friend, the retired professor of Humanities/Religious Studies and Theology would say, this is worthy of every left handed compliment it receives.

  • Whatever happened to people being nominated, hired or promoted for their ABILITIES? Not their sex (or lack thereof), religion or what they believe in.

  • worthy of publishing? Or a lesson in grammar and lack of verbal expertise by example?

  • If there's an issue with grammar, then that's the Editor's problem. As far as why publish, it's an opinion piece and everyone has a right to their opinion.
