College OKs salaries, $10.4M remodeling project
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — A major remodeling project for McCook was advanced Wednesday during the Mid-Plains Community College board of governors’ regular monthly meeting.
A not-to-exceed price of $10.4 million with Samson Construction for remodeling of the old Elks Club into the McCook Community College East Campus was approved. The facility will be converted into meeting rooms, a “maker space” and classrooms for medical and other programs. Much of the funding will come from the American Rescue Plan Act.
Governors also accepted a negotiated agreement with the Mid-Plains Faculty Association for a 4.25% salary and benefits package increase, which MPCC President Ryan Purdy said fell at the mid-point of comparable colleges.
