Tigers stay hot vs. Wallace; other area teams fall

BENKELMAN, Neb. — The Dundy County-Stratton boys blasted Wallace, 67-36, to reach 11-2 this season Tuesday evening.

Coach Kris Freeland’s team started super fast with a 25-4 first quarter which reached 47-16 entering halftime.

Steady junior Jackson Kerchal dropped in 15 points, senior Andrew Englot 13, classmate Alex Englot 11 and senior Corbin Horner 10.

No fewer than six Tigers hit one three-pointer including juniors Derek Noffsinger and Lane Brown.

Kerchal cleared the glass for 10 rebounds. Freshman Ethan Latta snabbed seven.

The Wallace Wildcats slipped to 3-8 this season.

DC-S has still lost only twice to unbeaten Maywood-Hayes Center. A potential rematch awaits in next week’s RPAC tournament.

BARTLEY, Neb. — No details were obtained about the Wolves’ narrow win over 5-8 Southwest.

AXTELL, Neb. — Sophomore Trenton Roskop ripped five of seven shots through the nets for 18 points in this Warrior road loss.

Senior Ander Wasenius tallied 10 points off his 27-point effort during the Arapahoe victory last weekend.

Freshman Kade Fisher added eight and frosh Carl Nadine connected on his lone three-point attempt.

Yet the Warriors fell shot with their record now at 6-8 this season.

Senior Cooper Wednland’s 11 rebounds were another Warrior highlight. Junior Campbell Schutz collected six.
