HOLDREGE, Neb. — McCook High's girls led from start to finish while nothing was farther from the truth for McCook High's boys in their varsity games against Holdrege Saturday.

Senior Shawna Wilkinson netted 19 points for the 3-4 Bison girls, who dominated despite allowing a final Duster 7-0 run which finished this 43-29 conquest.

Meanwhile, the Bison boys overcame 34 points from Holdrege star Jackson Hinrichs along with deficits reaching 15 points.

Yet McCook (6-1) prevailed 89-79 in double overtime behind Gabe Gans' 20 points, Keagan Johnson's 19 and senior Evan Humphrey adding another 19.

Senior Jacob Gomez-Wilson tossed in 10 as McCook trailed 70-63 until Johnson's two threes and a senior Beau Bieker free throw made it 70-70 at the end of regulation.

The Dusters led again 76-70 only to be blanked while McCook rallied to 76-76.
