Road maintenance work to begin near Imperial

McCOOK, Neb. — Weather permitting, an asphalt overlay project will begin July 5 on N 61, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. The asphalt overlay will improve the roadway surface and drivability.

State maintenance forces will be performing the asphalt overlay at various locations between reference post 42 and reference post 48, near Imperial. The work is anticipated to take 10 days to complete.

Once the work on N-61 is completed crews will move to US-6 in Imperial and perform patching from the US-6/S-15A junction to 18th Street. The work is anticipated to take 10 days to complete. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
