Busy McCook Legion baseball week begins tonight
IMPERIAL, Neb. — The McCook National Bank Seniors’ Legion baseball season really hits full speed this week.
MNB visits Imperial tonight, hosts Holdrege on Wednesday, Gothenburg Thursday night, Broken Bow on Saturday and Minden on Sunday.
The Seniors have only played one official game in 2022 where they lost to Ogallala by an 11-1 final on Sunday, May 22.
While tonight is just Seniors at Imperial, the First Central Bank Juniors will join MNB for home doubleheaders four times this week.
Both Wednesday and Thursday are 5:30/8 p.m. scheduled twinbills.
The weekend doubleheaders begin with Juniors at 1 p.m. and Seniors set for 3:30 p.m.
All games are played at the Jaycees Complex.
The FCB Juniors battled through a tough holiday weekend in Kearney’s home tournament.
McCook started with a narrow 8-7 loss to Omaha Westside.
Grand Island blasted First Central Bank, 20-4, before Hastings scored a 15-7 victory.
The McCook FCB Juniors dropped their Sunday finale to Lincoln Southwest, 8-0.
No individual stats were obtained.
Coach James Mockry’s team scored earlier wins this season over Ogallala, Hastings and Cozad to stand at 3-5 so far this season.
There are McCook Legion baseball teams home tonight.
Pinnacle Bank plays Cozad at 6 p.m. followed by an 8 p.m. game with Cambridge visiting to take on Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel.
