Search underway for new chamber director
McCOOK, Neb. – After only eight months with the position, Chamber President and CEO Brandi McConnell has decided to resign. She said in an email blast to members that she has accepted an Executive Administrative Assistant position at MNB Bank.
“This was a difficult decision for me, but the position provides professional growth, and it’s an opportunity to specialize and key in on my strengths within their team,” McConnell wrote of her new role.
She went on to say in her email, “Thank you for all your support and for providing the opportunity to serve you. Your dedication and servant hearts are truly what a community needs. You all have been supportive, connected me with many leaders, provided me with growth, and have been great mentors to me. The time you put into the Chamber, whether serving on boards, committees or participating in our events, showed me a true passion for the community. I’ve never felt so connected to a community. This is my home, and I hope to show others the same support and acceptance to keep this their home too!”
“I wish to thank Brandi for her community-focused work as the President/CEO of the Chamber.,” said Lori Beeby, Chamber of Commerce board chairwoman. “We wish her the best in her new role at MNB Bank. In a short amount of time, Brandi built on the goals for the chamber in membership promotion, enhancement of community events and education. The McCook Chamber of Commerce and the community will be the strongest it has ever been in 2022. We look forward to finding a replacement for the next President/CEO of the McCook Chamber Commerce to continue the traction and goals set in place.”
McConnell’s last day at the chamber will be January 26th. Prior to McConnell’s tenure, the President/CEO of the chamber was Dawson Brunswick who started in August of 2019 and left for a similar position in Columbus, Neb. in March 2021.
