Haymakers stop Trojans' streak; Warriors triumph

COZAD, Neb. — Following Tuesday’s great win over Loomis, the Cambridge Trojans ran into a tough Cozad foe and lost 59-42 Thursday evening.

The unbeaten Haymakers (4-0 record) contained Cambridge (5-1) even tough senior Dahlton Wood hit 11 of 14 field goals for 23 points.

Sophomore Carson Trompke canned both his three-point attempts in another Trojan highlight.

Seniors Derek Trompke scored eight, Zach McArthur three and Austin Harris two points.

Wood added 11 rebounds to finish a double-double while also blocking one Cozad shot.

WILCOX, Neb. — Junior Cooper Wendland’s 18 points led Arapahoe to a 30-point road win while senior Tyler Miller tossed in 12 Thursday.

The Wariors (2-3) trailed 10-7 through one quarter but hit 20 during those next two periods while building a 47-27 lead.

Junior Ander Wasenius and sophomore Campbell Schutz added nine points each.

Senior Grant Taylor scored seven as he hit 60 percent (three for five) from the floor.

Arapahoe even grabbed a 45-32 rebounding edge led by Wasenius with 11, six steals and three assists.

The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons fell to 0-6.

WALLACE, Neb. — The Wallace Wildcats featured four double-figure scorers leading their fourth win in five games Thursday evening.

Senior Alec Messersmith stepped up for his season-best 18 points.

Junior Trey Robertson and senior Kolton Hager put in 12 points each. Senior Camden McConnell totaled 10 and junior Kyler Flaming (eight) was just one more basket from five reaching doubles.
