McCook player teams with Oberlin for 9-ball title
McCOOK, Neb. — Kaitlynn Fisher from Oberlin and Chris Schaffert from McCook will advance to the American Poolplayers Association’s (APA) 9-Ball Doubles Championship in Las Vegas in May after winning the 9-Ball Doubles tournament held recently at Eagles Club in North Platte.
Taking second place were Eric Skeen and Gary Skeen both from McCook, while 3rd place went to the McCook duo of Drew Harms and Steve Clark. Both teams received a cash prize for their efforts.
Once in Las Vegas, Fisher and Schaffert will compete in a field of 384 teams and for a share of over $38,000 in prize money.
Players that advance to the APA Championship events in Las Vegas receive paid entry fee/greens fees, a generous travel allowance and complimentary lodging at Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino, site of the APA Championships.
