McCOOK, Neb. — Numbers were strong and it was truly a grand finale for McCook High’s JV football team at Weiland Field Monday night.
Beginning with an 83-yard opening connection, Patrick Gross found receiver Adyn Meyer for four touchdowns in a 47-29 triumph over Grand Island Northwest’s visiting Vikings.
Gross threw nine, four and 44-yard scoring strikes to Meyer.
Northwest answered with some of its own TDs, but the Bison finished this win thanks to some great ground work.
Gross rumbled four and 12 yards to two more touchdowns in this season finale.
Sophomore Mitchel Cole handled kicking duties where Gross has excelled at the varsity level all season.
Cole kicked two PATS as well as field goals covering 32 and an impressive 47 yards.
