Sheriff seeks clarification on policy
McCOOK, Neb. — After Sheriff Alan Kotschwar asked for clarification for parts of the county’s personnel manual, Red Willow County Commissioners indicated they would seek input from the county personnel committee.
Kotschwar’s questions concerned potential employees and supervision of an employee by a family member. Commissioners did not take a vote on the question.
Under the consent agenda, commissioners approved accounts payable totaling $172,483.76, including $42,450 for a new pickup truck for the Household Hazardous Waste department and more than $91,000 as a short-term loan to the county fair to cover a cash-flow issue.
The consent agenda also included approval of a new inter-local agreement with Furnas County for a Veterans Service Officer, setting 10 a.m. Oct. 18 for the opening of bids for a motor grader and moving accounts payable claims from Oct. 11 to Oct. 18 because of the Columbus Day holiday.
Commissioners also acted as a board of equalization to approve two omitted property items for County Assessor Kristi Korell.
