Bison diggers lead volleyball effort at Ogallala

OGALLALA, Neb. — Senior Makynna Cunningham’s double-double of 13 assists and 12 digs led McCook during a three-set volleyball loss to Ogallala Tuesday evening.

Senior libero Peyon Doucet dove in to save 21 digs while classmate Sierra Kotschwar made an impressive six blocks.

Senior Emma Dutton added another three blocks.

However, the Indians (4-1 record) still delivered 25-20, 25-20 and 25-10 victories.

Gabriella Caskey crushed eight of Ogallala’s 31 kills.

Senior Addison Randel’s six kills led the Bison hitting attack with four from Dutton.

McCook (0-5) visits Holdrege tonight.

In JV action Tuesday, Kori Rippen ripped 10 kills to go with 12 assists from Jaci Meyers. Freshman Bailee Fawver made seven digs to go with two blocks from senior Leah Spencer.

The reserve match vs. Ogallala featured Becca Koenig serving five aces and Grace Wilhelmson four.

Ashlyn Randel totaled four kills and four digs.
