McCOOK, Neb. - “I get the question a lot about if I’m going to build another gas station. I’m gonna say NO – right now,” Nick Nothnagel told a large gathering at the ribbon-cutting for N-Stant Convenience in McCook. He went on to say that the process for opening the Shell Oil franchise at 1111 West B Street took about six years. “I think I quit about 15 times,” Nick said.

Nick is in partnership with his brother, Matt Nothnagel, in the businesses that offer eight fuel pumps, a spacious lot, convenience items, beer and liquor. Local favorites are the Braxton Brisket Barbique menu items and Rocket Inn of Indianola pizza.

The station is a participant of Shell Rewards. By signing up at fuelrewards.com, customers earn points that will save cents off per gallon when filling up at any participating Shell station. There’s no charge for the rewards card, and customers can link any existing credit or debit card to acquire even more rewards points when making everyday purchases.

Nick emphasized that the business uses as much local supplies and services as they can. “We wouldn’t be here today without the people that support our businesses,” he said, further explaining, “We bank local. We ensure local. We build local.”

Nick encouraged people to continue to check out the business, as they have a lot of business ideas that they will be further implementing in the future. “We just want to keep this place growing and going.”
