Friday, June 18, 2021

McCOOK, Neb. — Red Willow County officials will discuss the value to settle a TERC protest, and will be asked to cover the cost of a pauper burial at Monday’s commissioners meeting.

County Assessor Kristi Korell and Deputy County Attorney Phil Lyons will discuss with the commissioners, acting as a board of equalization, the value to settle a local protest filing with the Tax Equalization and Review Commission.

Korell is also requesting the board of equalization to conduct a hearing on a real estate tax exemption application, as well as overvalued, undervalued and omitted properties.

County Treasurer Crystal Dack will also bring a tax roll correction to the board.

Reconvened as a county board, the commissioners will consider a claim presented by Carpenter Breland Funeral Home for a pauper burial at 9:45 a.m., open gravel bids at 10 a.m., and meet with David Blau of Miller & Associates regarding the 2021 armor coating project.
