MP governors OK student clubs, contract
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- Meeting in North Platte Wednesday night, the Mid-Plains Community College board of governors approved Shooting Sports and eSports as official student clubs, with more information to be provided later.
After a closed session, the board also approved minor amendments to a negotiated agreement.
Members of a team that worked on a new card system implemented through the electronic commerce platform Transact were recognized by the board. Their work won MPCC the Transact 360º Distinction Award for Student Experience in Campus ID and Commerce Solutions.
The team members represented at the meeting included Mike Steele, Wendy Schramm, Carol Garrison, Regina Hanson, Katie Wheeler, Mary Lister and Taylor Pantenburg.
In other business, the board:
-- approved the Information Technology Program Review as presented and the forwarding of the report to the Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education (CCPE).
-- approved the property and liability insurance expense through Nebraska Community College Insurance Trust at an estimated cost of $501,147.
-- approved the cancellation of the June meeting due toN scheduling conflicts.
The next meeting will be 6:30 p.m. MDT at the Imperial Campus.
