Indianola man killed, others injured in collision
McCOOK, Neb. -- An Indianola man was killed and several others injured in a head-on collision Saturday night east of McCook.
Thomas D. Stritt, 72, was killed in the accident, which occurred at 7 p.m.
According to the Red Willow County Sheriffi’s Office, Stritt was the driver of a westbound 2014 Toyota Camry which crossed the center line of U.S. Highway 6-34, made contact with the rumble strip and struck an eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Anthony Truksa, occupied by six people.
Anthony Truksa, Jill Truksa and Bo Truksa were transported by ambulance to Community Hospital, with Anthony later taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Three young people in the Truksa vehicle were transported by personal vehicles to Community Hospital where they were treated and release.
The Red Willow County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Nebraska State Patrol is continuing with the investigation.
Funeral services for Stritt, former Red Willow County Veterans Service Officer, are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Indianola. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
