McCOOK, Neb. — An agreement under which the City of McCook provides dispatch services to the Red Willow County Sheriff’s Office is back on the county commissioners’ agenda for Monday.

The meeting opens at 9 a.m. and Sheriff Alan Kotschwar and Police Chief Joel Smith are slated to meet with the commissioners at 9:30 a.m.

At the county board’s May 10 meeting, commissioners tabled to topic for more information.

At that time, the city was proposing a 3% increase over 2021-22 costs, or $69,322 for the new contract, divided monthly.

Other items at Monday’s meeting, set for the commissioners’ room on the third floor of the courthouse, include a 10 a.m. meeting with Tobin Buchanan of First National Capial Markets concerning renewal of the Hillcrest Nursing Home bond.

Correspondence includes a letter concerning property values for TERC requirements, and a letter from Gans Family Fams in opposition to National Heritage Areas.

  • No need to double tax local citizens to have two dispatch centers.
