McCOOK, Neb. — McCook High activities director Darin Nichols released this information in a statement Wednesday evening:

"McCook High School is very excited to announce Carol Brown as the new Head Girls Golf coach for the McCook Bison.

Brown has been coaching reserve volleyball in McCook this past season and teaching at Central Elementary. Prior to coming to McCook, Carol coached boys/girls golf at Decatur Community in Oberlin, Kan., for six years.

Carol has been an avid golfer all of her life. Carol has a passion for golf and coached both of her sons. Kade is currently competing professionally and Kelly has been competing as an amateur and has qualified as an alternate for the US Open this weekend.

Both Kade and Kelly have also been caddies at major golf courses in Florida for several years. Carol for looks forward to continuing that great tradition at McCook and encouraging students from McCook to give golf a try.

If your daughter is interested in playing golf in the future please send coach Brown an email at cbrown@mccookbison.org."

Joel Arterburn has directed McCook girls golf through these past four seasons. Several players gained experience on a larger squad last season. He'll continue teaching and coaching for the Bison, according to McCook High information.
