KEARNEY, Neb. — Rounding the bases once again became a routine as McCook Rebels 14 trounced three softball foes at last weekend’s Kearney Spring Fling.

The Rebels routed North Platte Heat, 11-0, but a nine-run first inning couldn’t match their 15 scored in an ensuing 15-5 victory over the Omaha Force.

These Rebels then needed just four innings to finish a 13-4 conquest of Kearney CNSA.

“Girls had a great start to the season with our bats coming alive and our defense and pitchers doing great,” coach Lance Gillen remarked.

The Rebels delivered another defeat of Omaha Force, 5-3, to reach this Spring Fling championship game. However, the Hastings Heat finally cooled McCook during at3-0 title finale.

McCook Rebels returned home where they’ll start getting ready for their own McCook Optimist Tournament on Saturday, May 8.

“Looking forward to playing at home,” coach Gillen concluded.
