McCOOK, Neb. — Paul Daniel Schluckebier, age 50, of McCook, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the Omaha Veteran’s Hospital.

Paul was born March 2, 1971, in Stratton, Neb. He grew up in Omaha, Neb., and graduated from Roncalli Catholic High School with the Class of 1989.

Following high school, in 1991, Paul enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1993. He moved to Southwest Nebraska as a young adult. Through the years, he held a variety of different jobs, and most recently worked for BNSF railroad.

Paul was a gun enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He never knew a stranger and loved spending time with people, especially his family and friends. He never missed “Dear Camp” at his favorite place on earth, his grandparents farm in Palisade, Neb.

Paul was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Those left to celebrate his life include his parents, Charles Schluckebier of Palisade, and Marjorie (Spickelmier) Brady of Bellevue, Neb.; wife, Cindy (Potts) Schluckebier of Bartley, Neb.; daughters, Lilli (David) Stone and granddaughter, Olivette of Lincoln, Neb., Ashley (Seth) Saf and grandchildren, Fadlynn and Finnley of Bartley, and Sophia Schluckebier of Bartley; cherished friend, Terri Banzaf; siblings, Jennifer (James) Bennett of Bellevue, Jerome (Melissa) Brady of Wichita, Kan.; Julie Brady of Seattle, Wash.; Clint (Cynthia) Brady of North Platte, Neb., Danny (Desi) Schluckebier of Palisade, Donna Schluckebier of Sidney, Neb.; and numerous nieces, one nephew, and extended family members.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m., on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook, with Pastor Scott Mustion officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Palisade Cemetery, Palisade.
