A long-time contractor in hundreds of major projects in Southwest Nebraska, Paulsen Inc. is now a major local employer with the purchase of Gerhold Concrete of McCook, effective Jan. 1, 2021. Welcoming customers to a barbecue Friday were, from left, owner Larry Paulsen, local manager Roger Henthorn, ready-mix division manager Brian Engel and paving manager and fourth-generation owner Jed Paulsen. All local employees and equipment joined a family of Paulsen ready-mix and/or gravel facilities in Arapahoe, Arnold, Cozad, Broken Bow, Elm Creek, Franklin, Holdrege, Lexington, North Platte, Indianola and Ogallala.
