McCOOK, Neb. – The Red Willow County Fairgrounds will be home to The Big Show, taking place this weekend, Friday 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Jesse Stevens, general manager at Hometown Family Radio who sponsors the show, said the event has about 50 vendors setting up at the fairgrounds and will feature everything from shrimp to home security. Other types of goods and services featured include boats, clothing, crafts, soap, wood décor, leatherworks, home improvement and repairs, hot tubs, and auto repairs, just to name a few.

Bring your appetite because food vendors include Broha’s BBQ with their food truck, and Gary’s Super Foods setting up inside the Community Building.

Stevens said the station has been sponsoring the show for four or five years, which came about as a replacement for the Home and Leisure Show that used to take place every spring. “It’s a lot of work,” Jesse said, “But it’s good for the community.”

He said the show is an opportunity for vendors to meet and greet a lot of people, and for the people to see some of the businesses that may not always be on their radar. “I’ve always believed that when small businesses succeed, it makes other small businesses succeed. This show is an opportunity to give recognition to some businesses that everyone knows about, as well as a few that are new or less visible,” Jesse said.

Admission is free, and so is parking.
