DC-S Tiger girls cool Raiders in Curtis
CURTIS, Neb. — Dundy County-Stratton’s girls ignited an early 13-6 lead and went on to beat Medicine Valley, 46-40, in a battle of 7-4 teams on Thursday.
The Tigers (8-4 record) took charge with senior Maggie Lutz’s 15 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Freshman Alyssa Schneider continued stepping up her production while top scorer McKnzie Baney recovers from an injury.
Schneider tallied 10 points, six rebounds, swiped four steals and sent out four assists.
Senior Haylee Davis joined Mica Donohue in adding seven points apiece for coach Matt Thomas’ team.
The host Raiders (7-5 record) were aiming for another big win to just 31 perent shooting and one-for-eight from three-point range.
Senior Acelyn Klein did score 15 points while junior Kaylyn Roblee collected a dozen of 44 Bronco rebounds.
Roblee netted nine points including three of four free-throw attempts.
Freshmen Stella Heapy (six points) and Madison Kramer teamed for another 10 points. Kramer cleaned the glass for nine rebounds. Remember, Med Valley outrebounded Sandhills Valley, 50-26, on Tuesday. The Raiders couldn’t rally from a 35-25 deficit Thursday.
