Broncos, 'Riders reach all-district in Six Man

PAXTON, Neb. — Seniors Garrett Latimer from Southwest and Braxton McKinney of Wauneta-Palisade erned first-team spots while leading area football players among the 2020 D6-5 all-district selections.

Latimer joins the first-team defensive line with McKinney claiming his place in the linebacker/defensive back position.

Senior Brett Tryon of Southwest was a second-team selection on offense at running back with sophomore teammate Hunter Cunningham a second-team end.

Together, they helped the Roughriders reach state playoffs in their first year of Six-Man. They lost to eventual state finalist Stering.

W-P sophomore Kyle Jutten and Southwest freshman Trenton Custard were both named all-district second team on the defensive line.

Earning honorable mention were W-P junior Grant Walker and Southwest senior Matthew Van Pelt, who returned from an injury.
