Decker appears in county, district courts
McCOOK, Neb. -- An Indianola man accused of killing a McCook man appearing in Red Willow County Court waived his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday, and appeared in Red Willow County District Court an hour later, where a request to reduce bond was denied.
The two hearings were held on the same day for the convenience of his Lincoln attorney.
Alva C. Decker, 33, Indianola, continues to be held on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit a felony and use of a firearm to commit a felony.
He is accused of killing Steven Lee Weaver, 30, McCook, in an incident Oct. 8, west of Indianola, where his brother, Charles Edward Decker, 36, was killed in a motor-vehicle accident.
Details of the case were sealed and a status hearing is set for 11 a.m. Dec. 7.
