MINDEN, Neb. — Dennis “Denny” Leroy Lawson, age 73, of Minden, passed away at his home on Sept. 24, 2020. He was born in Cambridge, Neb., on Jan. 16, 1947, to Frank and May (Phillips) Lawson. Denny attended and graduated from Bartley High School in 1965.
He married Caroline Klinzmann in 1977 and to this union three children were born: Frank, Carrie, and Denys.
Denny enjoyed his lifelong employment as an over-the-road trucker. He spent many hours on the road, traveling from coast to coast and to both borders, north and south. He drove a truck for over 30 years and was at Roman’s Trucking GI at the time of his retirement. He spent most of his life living in many Nebraska communities and several in Colorado, before retiring in Minden to be close to his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and May; and infant son, Frank.
Denny is survived by two daughters, Denys Herrera of Ravenna, Neb., and Carrie (Tyler) Zade of Indianola, Neb.; three grandchildren, Mikah, Riley, and Savanah; brother, Delvin (Virginia) of Champion, Neb.; and two nieces, Lynnette Arambula and Teresa Lawson.
Graveside memorial services will be 2 p.m. (CT), Saturday afternoon, Oct. 17, 2020, at the Bartley Cemetery with Pastor Johnny Walker officiating.
