Trio of 100-yard rushers lead Buffs, Devils also win

STOCKTON, Kan. — Buffaloes ran all over Stockton, Kan., as seniors Travis Chvatal, Cyrus Green and sophomore Jayden Reed powered a 42-15 Rawlins County win over the hosts Friday evening.
The Buffs evened their record at 2-2 thanks to nearly nine yards per rush. Chvatal carried 12 times for 119 yards, but Green scored three times on 15 rushes gaining 101.
Reed only needed nine totes of the pigskin to reach 115 yards along with two more TDs.
Together, Rawlins County rolled up 372 rush yards with one more score from Brayan Rodriguez.
Just as impressive was how six Buffaloes reached double digits in tackles.
Green delivered 13 stops while Chvatal and Reed both totaled 11. Sophomore Brandon Chvatal made a team-high four solo tackles (10 total) Sophomores Josh Popp and Brady Beckman totaled 10 more tackles apiece with a combined five solos.
Sophomore Drew Withington even picked off one Stockton pass.
The Buffaloes get set to host rival Decatur Community, Kan. (2-2) Friday night in Atwood.
The Decatur Red Devils edged Trego, 22-20, Friday night though no individual stats were obtained.
