Had a great day
Dear Editor,
This summer, I had a bad leg injury and consequently, at this point I am “gimping” around with a cane. Saturday after the parade, I was leaving the Keystone building and as I started to open the heavy door, a small Cub Scout rushed up the sidewalk and opened and held the door for me. I thanked him and he said with a big smile on his face, “you’re welcome. Have a great day!”
Then I went to the grocery store and as I prepared to take the cart back inside, a young teen-age girl came out of the store and offered to take my cart in. I thanked her and she said “No problem”.
It seems so easy to complain about kids doing wrong things but we often fail to acknowledge kids who do good deeds. Yes, I had a “great day”!
