MCC boosters honor 'Athletes of Year' for 2019-20
McCOOK, Neb. —Six McCook Community College student/athletes were selected by their respective coaches to be recognized for the 2019-2020 academic year as Athletes of the Year in their individual sports.
Baseball: Sophomore Braden Babcock

Men’s Basketball: Freshman Le Tre Darthard
Hometown: Denton, Texas

Golf: Sophomore Trevor Oberg
Hometown: McCook
Coach: Tyler Loop
Women’s Basketball: Sophomore Makenna Bodette
Hometown: Colorado Springs, Colo.
Coach: Brandon Pritchett
Softball: Freshman Kaitlyn Kleinknecht
Hometown: Cozad
Coach: Kevin Kaalberg
Women’s Volleyball: Sophomore Kiera Barr
Hometown: Granby, Colo.
Coach: Haley Kobza
From these six outstanding athletes, who were also successful students in the classroom, the MCC Indians Boosters selected the overall male and female athletes for the year.
This special recognition was awarded to Trevor Oberg and Makenna Bodette.
The MCC Indians Boosters, Inc. is a non-profit organization formed in 1996 to support McCook Community College through its sports programs.
Along with sponsoring the Adopt-an-Student and Read Aloud programs, the MCC Boosters coordinate the Hall of Fame, Dream Team and Banner Club programs, provide book scholarship funds, publish the sports media guides, and sponsor special events and promotions.
