McCook High School announces plans for graduation
McCOOK, Neb. -- McCook High School's 2020 graduation ceremonies are set for July 31.
The administration has issued the following statement:
Graduation Ceremonies
As we continue to navigate guidelines, questions regarding graduation are frequently
discussed. McCook Public Schools understand the importance of graduation in the
lives of our seniors and want to ensure that district conversations we are having about
our ability to continue them as planned are not being taken lightly.
At this time, plans for the McCook High School Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremonies
are as follows:
● McCook High School Graduation - Friday, July 31, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. held at
The Graff Event Center on the Campus of McCook Community College.
Per the current Directive Health Measure from the Nebraska Department of Health and
Human Services, indoor gatherings will be limited to 50% capacity. Therefore, each
graduate will receive 8-tickets for family members to attend graduation. The number
of tickets provided is based on the event capacity permitted under the Governor’s
Directed Health Measure (DHM) III. If Directive Health Measure from the Southwest
Nebraska Public Health Department and the Office of the Governor of the State of
Nebraska dictate a change, the Graduates and the Public will be notified.
All guidelines concerning the graduation ceremony, tickets and materials will be
distributed to the graduates during graduation practice on July 29th, 2020 @ 12:00 pm
(Noon) at McCook Community College, Graff Event Center, 401 East M Street, McCook
NE.
Please know, we understand and value the importance of this milestone for students
and their families, and we will continue to do all that we can to make it a reality while
prioritizing the health and safety of all involved.
