Herrmann Jones nearly knocks off Holdrege team
HOLDREGE, Neb. — McCook's Herrmann Jones Legion B team nearly got even with Holdrege Green Landscapes, but a final walk-off run allowed the hosts to triumph 10-9 Tuesday evening.
"We played a lot better than the last time," coach Greg Larson said as Holdrege hammered an 18-4 loss on Herrmann Jones June 23 at the Jaycees Complex. "Just a couple of key errors late cost us."
Larson praised Nathaniel Miller's pitching through four innings which kept Holdrege close throughout this rematch. Miller also led the Herrmann Jones hitting attack.
"He's a natural lefty with a twist," Larson observed.
Watch for more details from this game in Thursday's McCook Gazette.
The Herrmann Jones-Pinnacle Bank contests set for Thursday night have been canceled, Larson concluded.
