Holbrook girl killed in ATV-pickup collision Wednesday

KEARNEY, Neb. -- A McCook girl is recovering in a Kearney hospital following an ATV-pickup collision that claimed the life of a Holbrook girl on Wednesday.

Allysha SueAnne Fischer, 17, Holbrook, and Hailey Farr, 15, McCook were riding an ATV that entered Drive 415 in Gosper County from a private driveway when it was struck by a pickup truck driven by Chad Johnson, 48, Cambridge.

Fischer died at the scene and Farr was taken to the Cambridge hospital and flown to CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, where she was reported in good condition this morning.

The Gosper County Sheriff’s office was assisted by the Furnas County Sheriff’s Office, Arapahoe Fire and Rescue and Nebraska State Patrol.

No alcohol or drugs were believed to be involved, and no citations were issued.

Services for Fischer will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe and live streamed on the Arapahoe FUMC Facebook. Wenburg Funeral Chapel in Arapahoe is in charge of arrangement.
