'Super 2' construction begins Monday

McCOOK, Neb. — Weather permitting, work on US-83 is scheduled to begin March 16 north and south of Frasier Creek, from Reference Post 35.00 to Reference Post 44.75, according to the

Nebraska Department of Transportation.  This will be the first of six projects that will be part of the US-83 Super 2.

 Paulsen Inc., of Cozad, Nebraska has the $6,743,066 contract for this project.

Work will include culvert extensions, earthwork, asphalt milling and overlay, pavement markings, seeding and the addition of four passing lanes.

Traffic will be maintained with flaggers throughout the project, which is expected to be completed by June 2021.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously through construction zones and to expect delays
