M-HC takes over part of Lincoln but...tough day for West
LINCOLN, Neb. — Maywood-Hayes Center and Dundy County-Stratton both ran into tough Class D-1 state tournament obstacles as their basketball seasons ended at Lincoln Southwest High School on Thursday.
Wolves senior Jaycee Lapp (above) takes control of this basketball but defending D-1 champion Bergan held the lead through most of a 44-30 victory.
Neither senior Sable Lambley(below) nor any DC-S girl were shy about challenging a tall, tough 14-1 Chambers-Wheeler Central team Thursday afternoon. However, the Renegades caused too much chaos during their 58-36 win over last year's D-1 state finalist. The Tigers finished their fourth state tournament trip in five seasons. More details about both contests will appear in Friday's McCook Gazette.
