COZAD, Neb. — McCook High’s boys unleashed their season-best defensive effort while using a balanced attack to blast Cozad, 61-18, Thursday evening.

According to available information, the Bison (12-10 record) featured three double-figure scoring efforts from senior Cam Berry (12 points), junior Mark Arp (11) and senior Jordan Chauncy (10).

Senior Konor Rakes was right there with nine points in this impressive regular-season finale.

Another big story was the Bison only allowing 18 points to a Cozad team (5-16) that has recently pushed North Platte into overtime and beat rival Gothenburg last week.

It’s the kind of effort McCook will need while preparing for B-7 subdistrict tournament action next week.

Remember, the Bison face a monumental first task when they travel to Hastings and take on those top-seeded Tigers (18-5 record) Monday evening.

McCook will advance into the title game Tuedsay with another win.
