TRENTON, Neb. — Under the watchful eye of a bespectacled lion, John and Zita Rundel and Wendy McKain, members of the Hitchcock County Lions Club, volunteer at the Mobile Pantry event in Trenton on Saturday, which was "Lions Vision Day" worldwide.
As first vice governor of District 38L, John is proud of his association with the Lions Club, a nonpolitical service organization established in 1917 in Chicago. The mission of Lions worldwide is to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all peoples and to promote the principles of good government and good citizenship.
A finer focus of all Lions is on the preservation of eyesight and blindness prevention. After John's installation as district governor next year, he and Zita will represent District 38L at the 2020 Lions Club International convention in Singapore June 26-30.
