Wednesday, September 4, 2019

McCOOK, Neb. -- The McCook Chamber of Commerce has once again opened the search for the Heritage Days Royalty to include all male or female High School Seniors who reside in Red Willow County. Two outstanding seniors will be selected to serve as Heritage Days Royalty.

The King or Queen will receive a $1000 scholarship, and the Princess or Prince will receive a $500 scholarship, both payable to McCook Community College. Part of the selection process will include an interview. Some of the criteria that the committee will be reviewing are leadership, service, communication skills, confidence, personality and knowledge of community. The interview will serve as a positive experience for students who will soon be entering the job market.

The past Heritage Days Royalty has included some very notable young people who have grown into strong community leaders. The deadline for turning in the application is Sept. 11. Applications can be found on the Chambers Website mccookchamber.org.
