BENKELMAN, Neb. — Kenneth Neil Vanderford, 80, of Benkelman died Thursday (Aug. 29, 2019), at home.

He was born Feb. 12, 1939, to Charlie and Elsie Vanderford. He graduated high school in Haigler, Neb., in 1957 and then joined the U.S. Navy. He was discharged in December of 1961.

He married Ruth Ann DeWitt of Eckley, Colo., on Jan. 22, 1963.

He worked for the City of Benkelman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Norvin.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Benkelman; children, Tim (Wendi) of Benkelman, Dan (Carla) of Seale, Ala., Scott (Melisa) of Benkelman; and six grandchildren.

Private family services is at a later date.No viewing or visitation, cremation was chosen.
