TRENTON, Neb. — The former business manager at El Dorado Manor Nursing Home in Trenton was sentenced to pay restitution and serve weekends in jail for the unauthorized use of the nursing home’s credit card.

Kimberly Oberg of Trenton pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge of the unlawful use of a financial transaction device and sentenced July 24 by Hitchcock County Court Judge Anne Paine to pay $12,292.76, serve 30 days in jail (weekends) and two years probation.

According to court documents, “The Court stated on the record that the only reason the defendant was not given a lengthy jail sentence was that the Court is giving her the opportunity to pay restitution to the victims and therefore keep her employment, based on her written statement that she has the ability to pay restitution in full.”

Oberg will serve the jail sentence at Hitchcock County Jail every weekend beginning 8 p.m. on Fridays through 5 p.m. on Sundays, until served in full. The jail time was to begin July 26.

The restitution is split between El Dorado Manor, $6,776.49 and Capitol One Bank USA, $5,516.27.

Conditions of probation include restitution paid as a minimum monthly amount to be determined by the probation officer and completing a cognitive thinking class.
