McCOOK, Neb. — Joseph “Joe” V. Wieser, age 59, of McCook, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 20, 2019, in McCook.
Joe was born Dec. 30, 1959, in Norfolk, Va., to parents, Donald F. and Eleanor E. (Harper) Wieser. He was one of eight siblings. Joe graduated from high school in Peetz, Colo., with the class of 1978.
On Aug. 5, 1989, Joe married Diane M. (Putz) Wieser in McCook. The couple made their home in McCook and were parents to two sons, Justin and Zach.
Joe was confirmed in the Methodist faith. He loved gardening and spending time working in his yard. His family was his pride and joy, as were his two beagles, Ace and Poncho. Joe was an avid sports fan who loved football, especially the Denver Broncos and Nebraska Cornhuskers. He and Diane shared a love of travel and have fond memories of cruises they had taken together and time spent in Las Vegas playing the slot machines.
Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Doug Harper and his father- and mother-in-law, Emory and Lucy Putz.
Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Diane Wieser of McCook; his two sons, Justin (Whitney) Stoller of Phoenix, Ariz., and Zach (Taylor) Wieser of McCook; father, Don Wieser of Lincoln, Neb.; mother, Eleanor Munshaw of Sidney, Neb.; four brothers, Danny (Deb) Wieser of Big Springs, Neb., William Harper of Ponca City, Okla.; Johnny Harper of Moyock, N.C.; and Riley Wieser of Lincoln; two sisters, Lynn Hradecky of Brush, Colo., and Shelby Wieser of Greeley, Colo.; four grandchildren, with one on the way, Robbie, Kylah, Aidyn and Jackson; as well as other extended family members and friends.
Visitation, with family greeting friends,was Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.
A memorial service was today, Monday, June 24, 2019, beginning at 2 p.m., at Cornerstone Fellowship Church with Pastor Rob Putz, officiating.
