Bison golfers take top four spot at Holdrege
HOLDREGE, Neb. — Fresh off both team and individual titles last week, coach Joe Vetrovsky provided this update on the McCook High varsity golfers:
“The McCook Bison boys golf team competed in the Holdrege Invite on Tuesday.
The weather was fantastic with sunny conditions and minimal wind.
In a tough field of teams the Bison competed well by finishing with a 348 as a team which placed them fourthin a 12- team field.
Grand Island Northwest, with a team score of 334, was the team champion after a sudden death playoff over Broken Bow.
Sophomore Brady Esch lead the bison with an 82 which notched him 10th place as an individual.
Brady had a nice day while being very consistent throughout his entire round.
Others that competed for the Bison were sophomore Payton Craw. who shot a nice round of 87.
Junior Brandan Eckhardt had a consistent round by shooting an 89.
Senior Joel Gray who scored a 90 and junior Logan Barenberg who carded a 92.
The Bison look forward to traveling to Sidney on Monday for a four-team competition against Sidney, North Platte and Ogallala."
McCook won last week’s Gothenburg Invite at the Wildhorse Course to begin their late-season push.
